My Meaning of Life

I wasn’t feeling very well

I was lying on my bed

In the house where I used to live

Before I had been wed

My mother came inside the room

And saw me in a state of gloom

Said she wouldn’t do a thing for me

No matter, no matter how upset I may be

Isn’t there something wrong with that

For someone living motherhood

When the child is not well

To say, “Get out.  You are no good”

Yes.  Yes.  That may be right

But that just means I must try

To do what I can on my own

And also go back to my own home

Yes, some people will get a dog

To be their companion and their love

I will stand on my own two feet

With help from the stars up above

The stars they wink

The stars they blink

To let you know

That they are true

The stars they wink

The stars they blink

The stars watch over

Me and you

Where is God up above

Watching us with kindness and love

Most of the time I feel sad

Because God is saying, “It’s just too bad.”

What does all this mean to say?

It means we must make our own way

It can be happy but if it’s sad

God will be saying, “It’s just too bad”
