Lynne

          Don’t know what to write about so I’ll just write and see what comes out of my pen.

          I’m thinking of men.  Just when I decide they all couldn’t be that bad, some guy shows me that HE is that bad.  They say it’s all up to the girl.  True.  True about 95% of the time.  As I learned in high school, there are two kinds of girls, but only one kind of boy.  This has been proved to me many, many times.

          There was a time they used to say, “Don’t blame the child.  It’s always the parents, never the child.”  I’m not so sure about that.  I think some people are just, “put together wrong.”

          I had a girlfriend, Lynne, who was just that, “put together wrong.”  We would walk down the street holding hands.  But since she also knew acrobatics, she would lift her foot behind me and kick me in the behind.  Then she would laugh.  Yes, that’s very funny, isn’t it.

          After a while, I just didn’t want her for a friend anymore.  I told my mother,

          “I’m breaking up with Lynne.”

          My Mom then said, “You’d better be good to your friends or you won’t have any.”

          Now what?

          After school in high school Lynne would say, “Come over my house.”

          I would say, truthfully, “I can’t.  I have to study.”

          “You can study at my house.”  But I never could. Lynne was not interested in studying or letting me study. 

          So then, when I was home, she would call me up over and over again saying,

          “Come over to my house.  Come over to my house.”

          So, I stopped answering the phone.  My mother would answer.  And when she told me that Lynne was on the phone I said, “I’ll call her back. I’m studying now.”

          But then every 15 to 20 minutes my mother would say, “Did you call Lynne back?  Did you call Lynne back?”

          Finally, Lynne would call me again.  And my mother would answer the phone and say,

          “I told her to call you back.  I told her to call you back.”

          Now, I ask you, “What was I to do and how was I to study?”
