Window

There’s a window by the sink in the kitchen
The blind is always closed
What is there that’s being shut out?
Who knows? Who knows? Who knows?
I went over to the window
And peeked behind the blind
Out of curiosity
To see what I could find
And what do I see out the window?
Three blind mice
Running after the butcher’s wife
It doesn’t seem so nice
And what does the butcher’s
Wife do?
She cuts off their tails
To put in her stew
Yum. Yum. Yum.
Yum. Yum. Yum.
Their tails taste much better
Than bubble gum
I climb out of the window
To see what I can see
I see a tall, tall castle
With steps to climb—that’s for me
I climb up the steps
And look inside with a sigh
Inside waiting for me
Is this gorgeous guy
I go inside and see
Cereal in bowls of three
And the adventures never stop
I’m hearing “snap, crackle and pop”
The gorgeous guy takes me in his arms
And carries me down the steps so well
And all the way to the farmer
The farmer in the dell
The farmer takes a wife
A wife to his home
The mouse takes the cheese
But the cheese stands alone
My oh my oh my
My oh my oh my
And I’ll continue staying
In the arms of the gorgeous guy
