Yes, my husband was a narcissist
And as I can plainly see
He made life
Very difficult for me
Then he became a psychiatrist
And I was a psychiatric victim
And he would regulate my life
To suit him. Yes, to suit him
But he is dead now
Almost 16 years
Life has never been so good

In spite of anxiety and arthritis
Everything we do is good
And so much does delight us
But I am still affected
By the domestic violence
But when I was married and told the doctor
I was met by silence
And I, too, was silent
Didn’t say a clue
What if I deserved it
Then, what was I to do
